Do Iranians want regime-change in Iran?

The top 3 most ridiculous Iranian “opposition” groups (extra points for being funded by the US government)

With Iran’s apparently sinister regime supposedly on the verge of collapse every weekend for the last 41 years, you would think people would get bored and stop listening to compromised fake Western news sources.

Also having waited very impatiently for 41 years for the regime to fall, various “Iranians” who dislike the regime are offering their support for US President Donald Trump to bomb their beloved country on their behalf. In doing so, they know Trump would kill millions of Iranians and eradicate Persia’s priceless cultural sites in the process - but it is the price they are willing for other Iranians to pay. Staying on that topic, let’s take a look at the top three most ridiculous Iranian “opposition” groups, all of which either get money off the US government or want it desperately.

#3 “Restart”

The silliest of the three, this is a strange group led by some kind of comedian. More accurately, he is apparently a radio host who believes America will defeat Iran and install him as its new leader if he begs them and posts memes about it on Twitter. Really, he is probably just hoping the US government will believe his claims and donate a lot of taxpayer money for him to live off while he stays in America.

Opposed to the MKO and the Shah-supporters, but even more obsessed with asking America to bomb Iran and magically install him as the ruler of a new Iranian regime, the guy in charge of “Restart” is only active on Twitter. He spreads a lot of spam there and appears to have no real support, but uses a number of memes about Donald Trump and the hashtags #MIGA and #MakeIranGreatAgain to pretend he has the support of Trump. He seems to have successfully duped a number of conservative Americans at least online, who don’t know the difference between him and the other two groups. He claims to have 20 million members in his “opposition” group but you can only find a few on Twitter, and their accounts are fake.

#2 Shah supporters

Unemployed US resident Reza Pahlavi (some dunce who thinks he is the king of Iran) has supporters who think he can become the puppet dictator of Iran, restoring the failed US-backed regime overthrown in 1979. If that is his goal, he seems to believe he can do it by appearing in interviews in US military propaganda, rambling about the “democracy” he doesn’t want in Iran and praising the US government’s idiotic policies and missteps in the Middle East. Although almost non-existent among Iranian expatriates, his “opposition” group is possibly bigger than #3.

If we consider the fact the original Shah was a US puppet, it is highly likely this wannabe puppet is also paid by the US government and kept as a future dictator if the US tries to forcibly change the Iranian regime. His appearances in news sources compromised by the US government seem to strengthen that possibility.

#1 MKO

Largest of the three, this one might confuse you if you are a US anti-Iran conservative. A Marxist group who originally opposed the Shah of Iran before joining Saddam Hussein’s regime in the Iran-Iraq War, the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization is considered a terrorist group in Iran and hated by the population. They were even also blacklisted as a terrorist group by the US government until recently.

Its bizarre ideology mixing communism and Islam and its history of violence have not been noticed by anti-communist US crusaders, who somehow support this group as the rightful rulers of Iran if the regime falls. Led from Europe by Maryam Rajavi, the now pro-West sycophant group is cheered by neocon drone-enthusiasts who call for America to attack Iran to install its power-hungry members as Iran’s new regime. While this may be what they actively call for, it is likely that the group really just wants dole from the US government like the other two. Despite that, the organization has killed Iranian scientists and other civilians on US orders in recent years and helped the US’s policies to immiserate and oppress Iranians.

Trump administration figures like John Bolton considered the MKO to be ideally placed to rule Iran, and promised them that the Iranian “regime” would be overthrown and the MKO would be celebrating with US conservatives in Tehran by 2019. Despite the MKO continuing to kill Iranian civilians, after 41 years it is no closer to the bloodthirsty regime-change it talks about.

What happens next?

In conclusion, it isn’t likely any of these dodgy and untrustworthy groups of exiles will ever be in power in Iran. At best, their support for US action against Iran will only fuel further US sanctions that will harm the welfare of Iranians over the coming decades or culminate in limited US bombing raids against Iranian nuclear reactors, causing a huge loss of civilian lives. In such a case, these ineffective groups will only be blamed for their support of the US actions and find it even harder to continue operating.

Finally, if the US does attack Iran and force one of these groups to form a puppet government, they will most likely die on arrival in Iran or end up on US taxpayer-funded life support machines while wishing they stayed in America.

Hard line needed on fake "celeb left": @kevindooleyirl since 2016

Strong rejection of establishment figures, academics and journalists professing to be the political "left" is required if leftist opposition to the state's imperialist propaganda is to be consistent, a blogger has argued since 2016.

It may be that Kevin Dooley's views deserved more attention when his blog began in 2016, and should be brought to readers now more than ever in the wake of a recent renewed stampede of lies and military aggression by Western countries against a Middle Eastern state - this time Syria.

Worse than the missiles launched by the aggressors on Syria, the toxic warheads of lies and dubious emotional propaganda have rained on the populations of Great Britain and the United States in particular as they did in the Iraq War in 2003. Like deadly toxins, such lies by our regimes can have severe repercussions and ultimately lead to deaths on the streets of the US and UK, as terror attacks have shown us.

It seems quite urgent that we hold anyone to account who acts as the apologist of American international terror and thuggery, no matter how enlightened they seem.

Dooley's analysis from 2016 seems to resemble comparable denunciations by so-called "conspiracy theorists" (particularly those who question the US regime's narrative of 9/11) that reject many leftist writers as "gatekeepers". Noam Chomsky's name surfaces in both types of analyses.

Dooley lists the following untrustworthy elements as part of the establishment "Celebrity Left" loyal to the Washington regime, although many others clearly exist:

Tim Wise
Noam Chomsky
Terrell J. Starr
Hussam Ayloush
Jeremy Scahill
Keith Olbermann
Jon Schwartz
Naomi Klein
Glenn Greenwald
Sam Kriss
David Simon
Max Blumenthal
Ben Norton
Rania Khalek

A common sign of such figures is their defense of the regime war criminal Hillary Clinton. Several such figures have changed their views on US military adventures throughout the world, fearing they would be discredited otherwise. But they, as state apologists, are no doubt ready to offer their support to the US regime again in other theaters of its falsely "humanitarian" aggression.

Fake publications that can be considered agents of the imperialist regime are The Intercept and Jacobin. It is notable that The Intercept is syndicated through US military propaganda newsletters, indicating business dealings with the aggressor's military.

The West should end its own terrorism

The Blog

Rejecting the notion that the West is simply a helpless victim of murder and mayhem committed by radical (and usually Muslim) groups, Garrison Center director Thomas Knapp gives a useful reminder.

From his article, posted on 15 July in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Nice, France:

Western (including American and French)  troops have killed hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, in the Middle East and Central Asia just since 1991.  Many (maybe most) have been innocent civilians. Their families, friends, countrymen and co-religionists have, unsurprisingly, responded in kind. We should stop supporting military adventurism not just because it inevitably results in “blowback” and dead bodies back home, but because it’s as wrong when “we” do it as it is when “they” do it.

It is indeed a hard heart that kills. Tools are mere distraction. Hearts — and minds — are where change begins."

With yet another atrocity occurring in the defenseless and open EU (many people forget the dates of individual terrorists acts now, as terrorism becomes a fact of life within the failing EU), Knapp expects more ridiculous measures by states. They may include "no drive lists" to prevent anyone with possibly radical views from driving heavy trucks, the Garrison Center director wrote on Friday.

Indeed, one consistent behavior of Western states seems to be increased monitoring and bans aimed at previously innocuous devices.

Pressure cookers, vehicles, and possibly even metal bars can expect to be deemed "weapons of mass destruction" in future, as politicians want the whole population in padded cells to enjoy "freedom and democracy".

UK oversees cluster bombing in Yemen

The Blog

As "hospitals, schools, markets and mosques" in Yemen were targeted by Saudi Arabia, British and US advisers were in Saudi command centers overseeing the use of internationally banned cluster bombs.

As explained in a recent Parliamentary Briefing breaking down the facts on Yemen, UK personnel were present in Saudi military headquarters alongside those of the US regime while Saudi forces committed war crimes using British-made weapons.

The Briefing states irrefutable evidence exists of British-made cluster bombs (banned under international law) being used against civilians in a village on the Saudi-Yemeni border. Despite this, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond's only response was to lie. "There is no evidence of deliberate breaches of international humanitarian law", the Secretary had said when confronted by Labour MP Hilary Benn over the role played by British personnel in the Yemen Conflict.

According to the British government, UK advisers are in Saudi Arabia to ensure the country and the Saudi-led coalition against Yemen comply with international law and strike only military targets. Despite the government's claims that Saudi Arabia has complied, most of the victims of the Saudi aggression continue to be civilians.

A disproportionate number of women and children have been killed in Saudi Arabia's bombing of Yemen and the accompanying blockade aiming to starve the impoverished country into submission. Meanwhile Britain and America say Saudi Arabia is acting responsibly. They even repeat Saudi propaganda that the real threat in Yemen is Iran.

To date, no evidence exists of Iran having any military presence in Yemen, although Iran has strongly noted its opposition to the slaughter of civilians in the country.

Muhammad Ali's sacred communication

The Blog

Following the iconic African American sportsman's recent passing on 3 June, Garrison Center director Thomas Knapp draws our attention to Muhammad Ali's days as a conscientious objector and anti-war campaigner.

Heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali refused the draft three times in 1967, and is known to have declared his sympathy with the victims of the US state's war crimes in Vietnam, saying "I ain’t got no quarrel with them Viet Cong — no Viet Cong ever called me nigger".

Without the stand Ali took against the Vietnam War, Martin Luther King Jr. would probably not have come out with the same view, inspired by the former's courage. And without that, the superpower might not have been so pressured to withdraw from its misguided wars.

Ali's legacy has already reached far beyond his own time and beyond America itself. Admired by many people across the globe, Ali's international popularity will still symbolize what Frantz Fanon meant when he mentioned an "illuminating and sacred communication" between all oppressed and colonized people. Here we see how virtue can transcend one's time and one's country. Ali's life offers a certain story of resistance and victory that will continue to inspire all people - but perhaps Muslims most of all - against imperialism, hegemony and injustice.

UK war hero declares war on schoolgirl

The Blog

British "Colonel" Richard Kemp, who portrayed himself as a war hero and great military commander to have any relevance, has been caught in a diatribe on Twitter trying to incite hatred against a 15 year old girl.

Anger against Leanne Mohamad for winning a school prize produced not just one, but four tweets all by the so-called Colonel "RICHARD KEMP", who capitalizes his user name like an evangelical crank, hoping to rally condemnation of her. The pro-Israel media slob accused the young girl of "anti-Semitic lies".

Pro-Palestine blogger Thalwen commented that Leanne's only crime was "hoping for freedom" for her people from the barbarism of the Israeli military occupation.

Kemp additonally promoted a video by a pro-Israel vlogger, who issued blatant lies that Leanne's speech in favor of human rights amounted to "an ISIS recruiting video" for siding with Palestinian Arabs and opposing Zionist killers.

While it is creepy enough that a so-called Colonel would want to intervene in a school competition and incite hatred against a child, more disturbing is the way other Zionist fanatics reacted to Leanne. One Zionist cries out that Leanne is "evil" and must be "vigorously condemned and punished"; another racist tweets that all the minority "Muslim filth" in the UK are to blame and longs to "bring on the civil war".

Thanks to smears by far right bigots, racists, and Israeli worms like Kemp who pretend to be British while defending foreign war criminals, the school did in fact censor Leanne, providing another victory over a child for cowards everywhere to revel in.

Although he tries to to portray himself as an impartial military professional in his relations with the media, most of Kemp's time is taken up accusing the media of bias against Israel and trying to come up with reasons why it was okay for Israel to kill kids. With his latest attack on a child, it is also questionable that the overweight and dimwitted 57 year old has any military experience other than trying to prop up the Israeli regime's reputation in the media.

Soldiers don't fight for your freedoms

The Blog

We owe "our freedoms" to the government and the soldiers and thugs it commands around killing people (including its own people). So will say your government, various prostituted scribblers in the press, and self-justifying murderers who otherwise can't bear to look in their bloodied mirror.

Constantly repeated in the media, post-9/11 in particular, is this view that the threat to Americans' "freedom" always emanated from foreign rulers - Hitler, Saddam, etc. Even more absurd is the idea that Middle Eastern terrorists are a new threat to freedom in the US, although they have made no real or imagined moves to overturn the US Constitution or seize power in the US.

In the meantime, the US government robs people of their freedoms, spying on them all and treating them all as the enemy. Even the people working for the US government are not exempt, being kept on a controversial "insider threat" database for having the slightest dissenting views from the regime.

One think tank contributor argues that in fact the threat to one's Constitutional liberties (in the US in any case) has always been the government itself.

Kevin Carson at the Center for a Stateless Society pointed out in a recent short article that "Our civil liberties are fundamentally protections, not against foreign countries, but against the government that claims to represent us right here at home." He rejected Charles Province's 1970 poem "The Soldier", often used in Memorial Day ceremonies, as "cringingly stupid" for crediting members of the US Military rather than dissidents and campaigners for winning people's freedoms.

Carson corrects the record for Americans, writing, "it’s the dissidents, the hell-raisers, the dirty flag-burning hippies, the folks with bad attitudes towards authority in general, who have given us our rights throughout history, by fighting for them".

So no, soldiers don't fight for your freedoms - unless you are talking about some ex-soldiers like Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden, who know who the real enemy is.

Memorial Day for the military's victims

The Blog

Writing ahead of Memorial Day in the US, Garrison Center director Thomas Knapp asked Americans to think about the victims of the US government's violence too.

Noting that modern states "murdered more than 260 million human beings in the 20th century alone", the author reminds us to remember not only people who died for governments but the far vaster number killed by them for dumb reasons.

Noting the terror inspired by the US military around the world now, Knapp concluded in his post:
We occasionally see a flag-draped coffin, or encounter an amputee on the street, but our concerns with, for example, terrorism, simply aren’t in the same league as the reasonable fears of those around the world living with American planes and drones constantly overhead or American troops on their streetcorners.
This Memorial Day, let’s set aside a moment to think about them.
The 260 million figure offered by Knapp excludes soldiers killed in action in the wars of the 20th Century, and is six times greater than the number of dead troops in those wars. It includes victims of genocides committed around the world by untenable regimes.

In the current century, the greatest civilian losses in wars are caused directly by the US government and its allies in the Middle East and other poor regions. The greatest example now is the war in Syria, waged by the US government as part of its strategy to overthrow foreign governments and replace them with "friendly" regimes.

"Obama should celebrate" US atrocities

The Blog

While President Obama's planned Japan visit was reported, C4SS writer Kevin Carson wrote to remind us the US atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945 was nothing but a act of murder directed intentionally at civilians.

Carson's article counters an earlier article, relating to a prospective visit by President Obama to Japan. Writing on 14 May, the Boston Globe's Jeff Jacoby had suggested Obama should actually tell the Japanese people he is glad about the nuclear bombing of their people as it allowed Japan to be "free" and enjoy "friendship" with the United States.

While the 1945 nuclear terrorism against Japanese civilians is praised by Jacoby for transforming Japan into what the US sees as a puppet state at only the cost of immolated women and children, Carson provides a rather different picture for you to consider. Rejecting Jacoby's view that other intensive bombing attacks on civilians in different countries were also justified to end the war, Carson writes that all "Attempts to terrorize a country into surrender through wholesale murder of its civilian population [are] a crime against humanity — no exceptions."

Carson's article concludes that the US decision to destroy cities was an act of utter barbarity, and finds little parallel anywhere except in primitive genocides committed thousands of years ago:
In fact, there’s no moral difference between Truman’s order of the massacre of the civilian population of two cities amounting to hundreds of thousands of people, and the massacres of civilian populations with which the Assyrians similarly terrorized enemies into surrendering over two thousand years ago.
Deliberately killing civilians is murder. It’s that simple.
As of this post's creation, Obama is not expected to either apologize for or seek to justify the US regime's extensive and horrific war crimes from 1945 to present when he visits the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.

UK drone strike legality questioned

The Blog

A UK Parliamentary committee report published on 9 May 2016 calls for more "accountability" in extrajudicial executions conducted by the human rights-abusing British regime overseas.

The report originates with the Joint Committee on Human Rights, and, although not condemning the state assassinations of British subjects without trial, makes a number of requests for the Government to explain itself.

Questioning the legality of UK drone assassinations, such as the one that killed Reyaad Khan on 21 August 2015, the report requested to know "the legal basis on which [Britain] provides any help which facilitates the use of lethal force outside of armed conflict by the US, or any other country which takes the same or a similar view to the US... with regard to the use of lethal force".

Regarding accountability, the report stated as follows:
There must also be a mechanism for effective independent investigation capable of leading to accountability... Independent scrutiny is a means of ensuring that decision-makers keep to the relevant standards; is a safeguard against the danger of mission creep, when broad powers are exercised in ever wider circumstances; and gives the public the confidence that it is necessary to entrust such exceptional powers to ministers.
With the so-called "war on terror" still a menace to human rights, many people still do not realize that the British regime, obeying the orders of the American regime, has carte blanche to kill anyone without trial if they are perceived or even mistakenly identified as a threat to the regime.

Veterans' political views aren't special

The Blog

Discussing the undue favor shown to veterans in US political discourse, Garrison Center Director Thomas Knapp noted in a recent article that they shouldn't be excluded from having to back up their arguments with evidence.

Often, supposed military heroes like Arizona Senator John McCain (also current Chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee) see their opinions being revered for no reason other than that they "once wore a uniform and collected a government paycheck".

Knapp rejects this type of thinking in his April 26 Garrison Center post, instead saying "If you really want to honor veterans, treat us like you treat everyone else. That means requiring us to prove, rather than merely assert, our political arguments."

It is worth considering that John McCain, although a veteran, is far from a hero. Much of his notability in Vietnam came from killing his own fellow servicemen during the USS Forrestal Fire. The bombs McCain dropped on US forces in the deadly incident killed 134 Americans, yet many people still consider him a war hero due to his disastrous part in killing hundreds of thousands of foreign civilians in a pointless war.

Rep Press shames Clinton's dishonesty

The Blog

Amidst the heat of battle between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders for the Democratic Party presidential nomination, Representative Press urges Democratic voters to choose Sanders over the "dishonest" Clinton.

Appealing to Clinton supporters to change their minds before it is too late, and not vote for the vicious neoconservative Clinton, political conflict reporter Tom Murphy at the YouTube channel Representative Press commented as follows.

Showing a video of Clinton laughing off Sanders when he accuses her of supporting destructive wars such as the US aggression in Iraq and Libya, the playlist description reads as follows:
Hillary Clinton has a track record of a being dishonest, disrespectful and arrogant politician who accepts money from powerful interests like Wall Street and sells out the working class by voting against legislation that would help us.
She gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for speeches for the rich and powerful and then she does the bidding of the rich and powerful.
Representative Press is best known for candidly discussing the real motive of the 9/11 attacks against the United States using YouTube and other services - US support for the Zionist Israeli regime.

Refugees are the west's fault, inevitable

The Blog

The "refugee crisis" is the fault of western regimes, such as the US and Britain, Mont Order members say.

In the text version of an online discussion held by the Mont Order back in February, the future of migration is discussed. L'Ordre offers the view that the refugee crisis really is a crisis (contrary to the comments of other members who see this as an exaggerated description). Furthermore, the west caused it by waging destructive wars.

The relentless US and western meddling, arms supplies, funding trails and other types of intervention by the west in Syria to support another fake "color revolution" are one such destructive war, a more subtle version of the aggression against Iraq seen in 2003.

L'Ordre emphasized that this makes the west responsible for the fate of the refugees fleeing the conflict zones it created. L'Ordre said back in February:
you can either be completely isolated from the events in which case you take no responsibility and no responsibility over any of the people. Or else you get heavily involved in which case you become responsible for all those people. In a way the West by being involved in Syria is responsible for a lot of these people. That's the way I see it. It's responsible for them fleeing that area because of the level of intervention
It puts a burden on the west to allow refugees into their countries, if the west can learn to accept that their wars have displaced so many people.

Russia broke its own Syria ceasefire?

The Blog

Despite the fact Russia organized and demanded the current Syria ceasefire in the first place, pro regime-change sources insist Russia is violating its own agreements and commitments that it set for itself within mere days.

Because the illegal armed groups propped up by the west against Syria are facing collapse and defeat, increasing hysteria and irrational thinking is overcoming the supporters of these so-called "opposition" or "rebel" groups.

More than ever, idiots are lobbying for a larger-scale war that will target Russia and involve the United States in a potential nuclear armed confrontation about the war in Syria.

Pushed up against the Turkish regime's border and begging for the despots in Saudi Arabia and Turkey to send troops to rescue them, Syrian "opposition" forces are again whining throughout the international media for foreign powers to refuse peace and instead invade the country. Rather than accusing the Syrian government of using chemical weapons or accusing Russia of bombing hospitals, for which they don't need any evidence to convince war hawks in the US government of the need for regime-change, they are accusing Russia of breaking its own Syria ceasefire within two days.

The claims were already being reported in the Qatari dictatorship-controlled media outlet Al-Jazeera, which has always advocated in favor of the Saudi regime and its massacres of the people of Syria and Yemen, only days after the Russian-drafted ceasefire was implemented.

None of these claims can be taken seriously as they are too farcical. If Russia's plan is to destroy the ceasefire, why did it create the ceasefire in the first place? The absurd allegations were predicted accurately at Beliefnet before they were made. One thing worth noting is that while the US indicates a "Plan B" to dismantle the Syrian state (something all the current traitors and foreign militants responsible for butchering Syria's people advocate strongly), experts in Russia warned that "Plan B" will lead to a nuclear war with Russia if the US attempts it.

From one point of view, it is unsurprising that anti-Syria advocates are accusing Russia of such an absurd crime as conspiring to destroy an agreement it created. They get their information from such faulty and propagandized sources like the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) that they can be expected to believe and react to anything except reality.

Democracy is fake, totally illegitimate

The Blog

Political scientist Robert Higgs has offered a compelling breakdown of why democracy is fake, and elected "representatives" are actually illegitimate.

In countries with millions of people with disparate interests, Higgs writes, representative democracy is a "practical impossibility". This casts serious doubt on the claims of western states that they are legitimate and that others, led by "dictators", are illegitimate.

Politicians are "inveterate liars" who prove democracy is fake

Higgs offered the following powerful analysis that should be seen by anyone with an interest in criticisms of democracy:
So, what possible intelligence can voters exercise in casting their ballots? They can vote in accordance with the appeal a particular candidate’s promises hold for them, but relying on candidates to carry out their promises would be childishly foolish. Anyone who pays the slightest attention to politics knows that politicians are inveterate liars; many would sooner lie than speak truthfully even if the truth did not thwart their purposes, because lying would be more congenial to their true, dishonest character. Thus, voters can do nothing more than throw ideological darts, casting their ballots for the candidate who makes the most appealing noises, has the handsomest face, or displays peacock-like the most fabulous partisan posturing.
Full analysis: The Hot-Air Barrier (Independent Institute)

Democracy is fake, and highly prone to start wars due to mass ignorance

Explaining that the promises of politicians are consistently broken, Higgs also wisely argues that elected politicians lie biggest when it comes to foreign policy. Citing that members of the public have some grasp of domestic affairs and are less prone to fall for lies on domestic issues, Higgs contrasts this with the fact there is "no practical limit to the enormousness" of the lies politicians can tell about foreign countries.

Politicians trying to start wars often have an easy time, Higgs points out, due to "the general public’s near-complete ignorance of foreign lands and the political, social, and economic conditions that prevail there". Thus, democracy is fake in its present form, and is used to legitimize the murder machine the west has become when dealing with oppressed countries.

Violent western governments repeatedly cite spreading their fake and insulting democracy as the reason they are going to war, even when the goal of their wars is to install dictators and put millions of people under the threat of arrest or torture.

Demo-skeptic chorus shouts out that our democracy is fake

Praising Higgs' analysis, antistatist writer Thomas Knapp said Higgs always "tells it exactly like it is" (KN@PPSTER).

L'Ordre: Democracy is fake

The Mont Order, to which Thomas Knapp is a friend, also acknowledges western democracy is fake in its code and encourages people observing the Mont Order code to have no faith in it. This view can be called demo-skeptic, a rarely used term denoting a simple lack of confidence in liberal democratic institutions and states.

Syria "peace deal" meaningless

The Blog

Present attempts to negotiate an end to the Syrian Civil War are part of a new effort by western countries to impose their will on Syria.

This was the opinion of Tony Cartalucci, addressing the future of the embattled Arab country at New Eastern Outlook on 22 January.

Syria has been fending off western "regime change" attempts for years, with the devastating attempted coup costing hundreds of thousands of lives and destroying the country's civil infrastructure. Around half the population of Syria has been displaced by the US attempt to impose its shallow ideas of "democracy" and "freedom" on the country by supporting terrorists and corrupt regional governments.

Cartalucci dismissed the current peace talks as a trick. The fake "opposition", made up of foreign thugs and US hit men trying to seize power over the dead bodies of the Syrian people in Damascus and Aleppo, is only negotiating because it is losing the war. Cartalucci believes the end of the war is near, and the west's only reason for talking is that its forces are being defeated:
As Syrian troops backed by Russian airpower move ever closer to the Turkish border in the north, thus cutting the lifelines feeding terrorists operating inside of Syria, and as Syrian forces cut off the Syrian-Jordanian border, the end of the war draws nearer.
Escalation has been one of the other options used by western powers in trying to forcefully impose a pro-western regime over the Syrian people. As Cartalucci writes, the west wants to change the tide of battle yet again in favor of terrorists and prevent a swift end to the war at this stage. It has "attempted to escalate the conflict, and also negotiate an end to it, attempting to leverage what remaining influence it has over the battle via its dwindling proxy forces and the [threat] of direct military intervention".

The increasing threat of direct involvement by the west to defeat Bashar al-Assad referenced above may be the recent attempts by the US to construct military bases inside Syria. A US base is reported to be under construction, in violation of international law and potentially bringing the trespassing US units into direct conflict with both the Syrian Arab Army and the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Topple: deport all bigots, not refugees

The Blog

Op-ed writer Steve Topple has appealed to Europeans to learn their history lessons again before calling for Nazi-like collective measures against refugees fleeing conflict zones such as Syria.

Topple does not hesitate to point out the west is to blame for the war in Syria. The west must make space for refugees, as it must face the consequences of its actions and atone for what it has done.

The post accuses Western societies of ignoring their own hand in creating a crisis for themselves, which they now try to shirk responsibility for by wanting to turn refugees away:
The anti-refugee rhetoric appeared to be systematically ratcheted up in nearly every country across the continent, without the smallest whiff of hypocrisy that the West’s agenda had largely contributed to this man-made crisis.
Elaborating on this responsibility, Topple writes that "Western foreign policy is partly to blame for the situation in the Middle East, which is rapidly spiralling out of control. Decade after decade we have geopolitically been led by our unquenchable thirst for oil and gas, regardless of the consequences." Amidst the hysteria spreading through Europe at the inevitable globalization of displacement and misery caused by western military aggression, many have called for all refugees (with particular emphasis on Muslims) to be deported.

Topple has an alternative suggestion of who deport:
Expatriate all the loathsome, lobotomised right-wing bigots and replace them with refugees.
Because I, for one, would rather we have a diverse, socially-rich, colourful society where the quality of life for everyone was far greater, than an insular, closeted, angry and scared country where the opinions of loathsome, vile bigots whose views belong in a 1970’s sitcom were the norm.
Tackling the specific hysteria of many right wing groups and commentators, Topple strikes back at their assertions:
Oh – and the individuals screaming “Rapefugees!” and “Women and girls aren’t safe!” when discussing refugees after we have just observed Holocaust Memorial Day, may wish to Google “Collective Responsibility” – although I doubt their myopic brains would be able to cope with the resonance.
Although many right-wing figures in the west are obsessed with World War II and the idea of supporting the Israeli apartheid regime to atone for the Holocaust, they are just as interested in committing a new genocide against Muslims. The additional inability to condemn Israeli expansion and ethnic cleansing and to support it, no matter how untenable, shows nothing was really learned from the Holocaust.

US wars condemned by Mont brother

The Blog

An apparent brother from the enigmatic Mont Order has emerged to offer moral and political condemnation of the neocon criminal regime in the United States.

Writing in an exhaustive comment post at his blog on Saturday, Mont member code-named Naughteeis slammed wars, corruption and lies emanating constantly from the American government. Particular focus is given to the Washington regime's war crimes and its attempts to vilify foreign powers and groups to distract the American people from its own brutality.

Preserved from the comment are some of the best quotes we have gathered, and appear below:
"Washington's culture of spectacle and fraud and abuse of power never listens to anyone but their masters who own this country...
"Real Capitalism would let the fraudsters fail and crash and burn, that's why the idea of free market capitalism is a myth...
"...when the Warsaw Pact was dissolved NATO had outlived its original purpose and now has become the major belligerent in the world...
"It's the same old game, [it's] as old as time itself, divide and conquer by creating as much chaos and instability as possible. We keep reinforcing and justifying their hatred for us with our Exceptionalism...
"Although Washington is the most active with their manufacturing of weapons of destruction and distribution of these weapons around the world, the UK, France, Germany and Russia all arm the world with their modern weapons too...
"Our government is the perfect definition of insanity. They keep repeating their same old game over and over again hoping for more chaos and death and destruction than the time before...
"The ones who own this country, the ones who really run this country, the Military Industrial Complex (MIC) and the Deep Police State (DPS) hiding behind the curtain of Government"
The Mont Order has codified, maintained and promoted its new seven-point code of values since its global video conference in October 2015.

Govt, media ignore suffering in Yemen

The Blog

Government and media in Britain are too focused on the Syrian Civil War to notice the greater scale of the suffering in Yemen.

In fact, as Steve Topple writes in an opinion piece at Common Space, the UK has even taken sides in the Yemen conflict, supporting the Saudi-led forces who imposed mass killings and starvation in the country after pro-Saudi President Hadi was driven from power.

The violence and displacement reported in Yemen, in what reports are available amid the pro-Saudi media blackout, is "a humanitarian disaster of even more catastrophic proportions " than anything seen in Syria. Topple writes that the war in Yemen is driven by Saudi Arabia's decline, as is found in recent events such as the lifting of anti-Iran sanctions, projected depletion of Saudi Arabia's oil fields in future years.

Noting that sectarianism suits Saudi Arabia and is part of its strategy, Topple criticizes the UK government's role in supporting the Saudi regime. "We, as a nation, need to take a long, hard look at our current government, its seemingly morally-bankrupt foreign policy and its preference for the pound over human life", he wrote.

The loss of the sanctions against Iran diminishes Saudi Arabia's position as a leading global oil supplier, and with this might reduce its political influence on other powers including the US.

In Syria, much like Yemen, all the violence is driven and funded by Western-backed forces who refuse to tolerate the government and are using terror against the general population to force their way to power.

US accepts reality in the Persian Gulf?

The Blog

Confusing and angering many American neocons, the American regime did not use the arrest of its sailors in Iranian waters as an excuse to start a war.

The US deep state, in line with the incumbent Democratic Party platform, seems committed to abandoning the idea of military aggression against Iran, after years of threats (the threats themselves were criminal acts, banned explicitly by the United Nations Charter).

The wiser experts at the Pentagon never really wanted war with Iran, and didn't want the 2003 Iraq War either, but are being constantly pushed by a clique of neocon political illiterates, now considered criminals to many. Media commentators have a big share of blood on their hands for the war on Muslims, like US television host Sean Hannity, who insisted that the US should violate all its obligations, agreements and the UN Charter by bombing Iran at a time of delicate negotiations.

This is a sensitive time for US-Iranian relations already. Recent news items have covered how the US government and Europe now accept that Iran has already met its obligations under the nuclear accord JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).

According to analyst Shahzad Masood Roomi in an op-ed piece at Pakistan's Voice of East online magazine, the US seems quite close to an exit strategy from its role as a destabilizing, irrational actor in the Middle East. However, Saudi Arabia is largely fulfilling that role itself, with the consequence of causing dangerous divisions in the Islamic world. The analyst wrote on 16 January:
US-Iran rivalry is not a bilateral issue any more but US partnership with Saudi Arabia acts like a catalyst perpetuating Iranian enmity with the US
On other sensitive disputes in the world, including Crimea's accession to the Russian Federation and North Korea's possession of nuclear weapons, the US regime still refuses to accept reality. In the below video, US State Department spokesperson John Kirby answers "no" when asked if the US will stop living in a fantasy world. This referred to the US making statements that it "will never accept" the fact Russia rules over Crimea and North Korea has nuclear weapons, both defying the US's arrogant demands for them to stop.

It is possible that the US will come around to accepting reality in other conflict zones too, but this may require a change of leadership. A future US President may eventually be able to back down from asinine denials of the reality that Russia rules Crimea and North Korea is in the club of nuclear-armed states. It must be remembered that the US eventually accepted communist China and even Cuba as valid governments it must work with, despite years of denying their legitimacy.

Petition: tell Google to stop ad revenue sanctions against YouTubers

What is likely to be more consequential than the removal of sanctions on Iran is the fact that the West now considers Iran a civilized, normal country. This is a big step for countries who spent so long demonizing the Iranian people and their 1979 Revolution.
